Innate Inertia: Review of Nightwalker by Sidelake 85
Nightwalker, by Swedish Synth brothers Markus & Jakob Sundvall, is a dose of instrumental nostalgia everyone should hear.
Nightwalker: Swedish Synth Nostalgia
The brother’s second single, was released today and is an eargasm awash in synths, guitar, piano, and saxophone. Featuring a faster pace than their first single, Autumn Drive, the melodic cohesion of the instruments is majestic.
My senses are overwhelmed by the driving bass line and smooth sax flows.
Where are we Walking to?
Nightwalker‘s drum and bass lines take you on an stroll of ambition. It pushes you to grind for your life’s ambitions, whether you’re working long days or nights. Staying on the course to get done what needs to be done under any circumstance.
The innate inertia in this track is invigorating.
The saxophone takes a haunting whispered backseat to the piano and guitar riffs as they take the lead.
The piano’s entry leaves me speechless.
Everyone should prepare themselves because Nightwalker shows that Sidelake 85 can make a fast paced banger! I am excited to see what else they cook up in the labs in the future.
A Timeless Feel
Similar to the brothers’ previous release, Autumn Drive, and other songs and artists of the genre, it takes me to a nostalgic place I never lived in.
Nightwalker washes away any stress, worry, or concern that weighs on my mind. It feels to me like a song out of time that speaks to my soul.
For this I can’t thank them enough.
This duo is my top 3 when it comes to Synthwave instrumentals, holding weight next to The Midnight and Max Cruise.
